Getting Started

A step-by-step guide to creating your account and starting with SocialFi Protocol.

Prerequisites

You will need:

1. A working email address — for registration and notifications
2. A Phantom Wallet — to manage SOL on Solana

- Download at: phantom.app
- Create a new wallet or import an existing one

1. Some SOL — to deposit as collateral (recommended: 2–5 SOL)

Set up Phantom quickly:

1. Install the Phantom browser extension
2. Click "Create a New Wallet"
3. Store your recovery phrase somewhere safe
4. Complete the verification steps

5 Registration Steps

Step 1: Go to the registration page

Open the SocialFi Protocol app and click "Sign Up" or "Create Account".

Step 2: Fill in your basic information

Email:         [your-email@example.com]
Password:      [strong password, 8+ characters]
Display name:  [John Doe]
Handle:        [johndoe]  <- your unique URL name (cannot be changed later)

Notes:

• Handle: This is your @username on SocialFi (e.g., @johndoe)
• Must be unique (no one else can use it)
• Only letters, numbers, and underscores (_) allowed

Step 3: Connect your Phantom wallet

The app will ask:

• Connect Phantom wallet? -> Click "Connect"
• A Phantom popup will appear -> Click "Connect" to confirm
• The app will now see your wallet address

Step 4: Choose how much SOL to deposit

How much SOL do you want to deposit?
[Recommended: 2 SOL for new users]

○ 1 SOL   (~$100)
○ 2 SOL   (~$200)  <- Recommended
○ 5 SOL   (~$500)
○ Custom amount

What will happen:

• Your personal token is created
• SOL is locked as collateral
• You can sell your token or others can buy it

Step 5: Sign the transaction and confirm

1. A popup from Phantom will appear
2. Review the transaction details -> Click "Approve" to sign
3. Wait for on-chain confirmation (about 30 seconds)
4. Account created successfully!

After Registration

You will be taken to your Profile page

Recommended next steps:

Logging In Later

Next time, simply:

1. Click "Log In"
2. Enter Email + Password
3. (If 2FA is enabled) Enter your 2FA code
4. You are logged in.

Note: Your Phantom wallet connects automatically if you approved it previously.

Useful Settings

Security and Protection

After registering, go to Settings:

Connect a Different Wallet

If you want to connect a different Phantom wallet:

1. Settings -> Wallet
2. Click "Disconnect" (if needed)
3. Click "Connect New Wallet"
4. Approve in Phantom

Troubleshooting

"Phantom is not showing up"

• Install the Phantom browser extension
• Enable the Phantom extension
• Reload the page

"Not enough SOL"

• Create a Phantom wallet -> send SOL from an exchange (e.g., Binance)
• Or use testnet SOL airdrop (if on devnet)

"Transaction failed"

• Check Solana fees (usually ~0.00005 SOL)
• Try again or contact support

"Lost my password"

• Click "Forgot Password" on the login page
• Enter your email -> receive a reset link
• Create a new password
