Basics

Q: What is SocialFi Protocol?

A: A social network platform where every account is a token backed by SOL. You can earn money from followers, token trading, and community building.

Q: How much does it cost to get started?

A: A minimum of 1–2 SOL (~$100–200) to create an account. You can start with less, but 2+ SOL is recommended.

Q: Are there any fees?

A: Yes:

  • Transaction fee (buy/sell): 1% per transaction
  • Claim reward fee: ~0.0005 SOL (network fee)
  • Solana network fee: ~0.00025 SOL per transaction

Q: How long until I start earning?

A:

  • First reward: 7 days after registration
  • Profit from trading: Immediately, if you pick the right tokens
  • Profit from your own token: Depends on follower growth

Account and Profile

Q: Can I change my handle (@username) later?

A: No, handles are permanent. Choose carefully the first time.

Q: Can I delete my account?

A: Yes, but:

  • You will lose your personal token and pending rewards
  • Collateral SOL will be returned
  • Deletion is irreversible

Suggestion: Claim all rewards before deleting.

Q: I lost my password. What do I do?

A:

  1. Go to the login page -> [Forgot Password]
  2. Enter your email
  3. Receive a reset link by email
  4. Create a new password

Q: Can I have multiple accounts?

A: Technically yes (one per email).
Policy: NOT recommended.

  • Considered spam and manipulation
  • If detected, all accounts will be banned

Security and Phantom Wallet

Q: Will I ever need to share my private key?

A: Never. We use Phantom — you sign transactions, we never hold custody.

Rule: If anyone asks for your private key, it is a scam. Do not comply.

Q: If my Phantom wallet is hacked, do I lose my funds?

A:

  • We do NOT hold funds -> SocialFi-specific SOL is not at risk from a hack of our systems
  • However, SOL in your Phantom wallet can be stolen if your wallet is compromised
  • Protect Phantom with a strong password and 2FA

Q: Do I need to verify my Phantom wallet?

A: Yes, once during registration to sync your profile.

Q: Is 2FA available?

A: Yes, and it is recommended:

  • Settings -> Security -> 2FA
  • Use an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy)

Q: Will I ever need KYC identity verification?

A: Currently: No (basic usage).
Future: Possibly, if compliance requirements change.


Trading and Tokens

Q: Can my personal token go to zero?

A: Not completely — there is a price floor equal to the collateral SOL. However, it can drop 50–80% if the creator abandons the project.

Q: Why does the token price change each time?

A: Bonding curve — a mathematical formula based on supply and demand. When you buy, the price rises slightly (compensating the seller). When you sell, the price falls slightly.

Q: Is there slippage?

A: Yes, approximately 0.5–2% depending on market conditions. The SDK calculates this automatically.

Q: Can I buy my own token?

A: No — the system prevents this (anti-pump-and-dump measure).

Q: How do I know if a token's price is about to rise?

A: Signals to watch for:

  • Fast-growing follower count
  • Trending posts
  • Rising engagement
  • Mention by a high-profile influencer

Suggestion: Research the creator's profile thoroughly; do not guess.

Q: Can I short tokens?

A: No, only long positions (buying). However, you can:

  • Refrain from buying if you think the price will fall
  • Sell tokens you already hold

Q: What is the swap fee?

A: 1% per buy or sell — roughly a 2% round-trip cost (buy + sell).


Rewards and Social Mining

Q: How are rewards calculated?

A:

Reward = (followers / 10) x activity_score x quality_multiplier x (1 + bonus)

Example:
- 1,000 followers
- Activity: 70/100
- Quality: 1.0
- Twitter verified: +10%
= (1000/10) x 0.7 x 1.0 x 1.1 = 77 SOL/week

Q: Are rewards guaranteed?

A: No, rewards depend on activity and followers. If you are inactive, they decay.

Q: How long until rewards decay without activity?

A:

  • Weeks 1–2: -10%
  • Weeks 3–4: -20%
  • Minimum floor: 10 SOL/week

Q: How does the verification bonus stack?

A: Bonuses stack:

  • Twitter: +10%
  • Telegram: +5%
  • Both together: +15% total

Q: When can I claim rewards?

A: Every week, on Sunday at 00:00 UTC. The claim button appears when ready.

Q: What is the claim fee?

A: ~0.0005 SOL (Solana network fee).

Q: What is the fastest way to boost rewards?

A:

  1. Verify your account (+15% immediately) — the fastest option
  2. Grow followers — directly increases reward base
  3. Increase activity — post, comment, engage

Verification

Q: Should I link Twitter or Telegram first?

A: Your choice, but Twitter has a higher bonus (+10% vs +5%).

Q: Can I remove a verification link later?

A: Yes, but your reward bonus will decrease immediately.

Q: What if my Twitter account is banned?

A: Verification is revoked. Options:

  • Appeal to Twitter support
  • Or link a different Twitter account

Q: What if my Twitter account is private?

A: You cannot verify a private account. It must be public.

Q: Do I need to follow @SocialFiProtocol?

A: Not required, but recommended to stay updated.


Issues and Troubleshooting

Q: App is slow or failing to load

A:

  1. Refresh the page (F5 or Cmd+R)
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Log out and log back in
  4. Try a different browser

Q: Phantom is not syncing

A:

  1. Enable the Phantom browser extension
  2. Make sure your wallet is connected
  3. Refresh the page
  4. Disconnect and reconnect Phantom

Q: Transaction has been pending for a long time

A:

  • The Solana network may be congested
  • Wait 1–5 minutes
  • Or the transaction may have failed -> you can retry
  • Check solanabeach.io for network status

Q: Not receiving rewards despite being active

A:

  1. Check your activity score in Settings -> Profile
  2. Are your followers verified?
  3. Have you verified your account? (boosts rewards)
  4. Wait until the Sunday 00:00 UTC claim window

Q: Cannot upload an image

A:

  1. File size must be under 5 MB
  2. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP
  3. Try uploading again or use a different image
  4. Contact support if the issue persists

Best Practices

Q: Which tokens should I buy?

A:

  • Creators with a clear niche (developer, trader, educator)
  • Follower growth of 10%+ per week
  • High engagement (50+ comments per post)
  • Verified account
  • Active posting (3+ times per week)

Avoid: Bot accounts, pump-and-dump schemes, scams

Q: What should I post?

A:

  • Authentic content (genuine interests)
  • Educational value and insights
  • Trending topics
  • Polls and questions to engage your community
  • Consistent posting (3–5x per week)

Avoid: Spam, scams, harassment, fake news

Q: Who should I follow?

A:

  • People in the same niche or interest area
  • Active creators with engaged communities
  • Educational content creators
  • Accounts with authentic followers

Avoid: Bot accounts, follow-back bots
